About Me

Meet Mirna

Mirna Tin was born in Guatemala City and was raised in the small town of Tejutla located in the department of San Marcos. Mirna immigrated from Guatemala to San Francisco at the age of 10, and currently still resides in San Francisco.  She graduated from Notre Dame de Namur University and had the opportunity to study abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France, where she lived for five months. For more than a decade, Mirna has held numerous boards of directors’ roles for The San Francisco and San Jose Chapters of The National Society of Hispanic MBA’s now known as Prospanica.  She is an Alumni of Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE). She is also the founder of the Lean In Latinas in Real Estate and Investment Circle

Mirna decided to pursue a career in real estate after her cousin started the process of buying a home and she became curious about real estate. She has always been passionate about giving back to her community and now that she is in real estate, she realizes that there is a huge need in the Latino community, such as how to navigate the process of owning a home and how to invest in real estate.

Mirna enjoys traveling, salsa dancing, self-development programs, reading, catching up with friends, days at the spa and the little things life has to offer. She loves the time she spends with her nephew and niece who mean the world to her and who are her WHY.  A couple interesting things about Mirna: she is a quarter Chinese, has walked on hot coils at UPW, a Tony Robbins event, and has completed the 75 Hard challenge, which was one of the hardest things she has done.

  • Our Latinas in Real Estate/Investments circle seeks to provide a space for our Latina community members to continue to share ideas about the real estate market, provide insightful tips on accessing the real estate market and investments, and continue to collaborate on best practices and resources available for Latinas in real estate and investments. Per the Urban Institute, "by 2030 Hispanics will be responsible for 56% of new homeownership gains. However, those employed within the real estate and housing industries are not reflective of this burgeoning demographic. Current estimates indicate that 4% of mortgage professionals and 7% of real estate agents are Hispanic. Approximately 25% of Hispanic buyers say they prefer to work with a real estate agent who can assist them in Spanish." Overall, Latinas are not represented in such statistics even though we make a majority of the buying decisions in the household. Our goal is to provide an engaging forum to share information on real estate and investments, both locally and nationwide. We want to share ideas and opportunities while providing a network for new and professional investors to continue to learn from shared experiences and ongoing resources. We hope to expand to a live professional investment panel setting in the near future.
